Chapter 2 Birthdays one day apart

The sun sets slowly in the west, and the warm afterglow of the setting sun shines mottled and lazily on the ground through the tiny gaps in the trees, making the face of the little boy under the tree blush.

Nolin was half leaning against the tree, holding a thin piece of dogtail grass in his mouth, chewing it carelessly, and looking into the distance with a pair of beautiful black eyes.

There is a medium-sized garden next to Privet Drive. Nolin likes to stay here when he has nothing to do. He spends the entire afternoon sitting there. It has been almost 11 years since he came to this world. He has gone from doubts and panic at the beginning to joy at discovering a certain fact, and now he is happy to accept it and deal with it indifferently. At least he has a happy family, right?

When he thought of the home in his previous life, Nolin couldn't help curling his lips, and his little face looked a little awkward as he looked back on the past.

His parents often quarreled or even fought. His father was an alcoholic and his mother was a gambler. Their attitudes towards him were not too bad, but definitely not good either. So much so that he had to work part-time when he was in high school. He thought it was amazing that he could go to college and afford the tuition. After graduating from college, he found an apartment and rarely returned to that home. He only sent some money back when his salary was paid every month, which was a sign of filial piety.

Life is pretty good nowadays. His mother, Liana Davis, is a well-known beauty and a skilled chef; her father, Justin Davis, owns a lawyer that is well-known in several nearby cities. Nolin is the combination of a talented man and a beautiful woman, and naturally he has inherited their excellent genes. At the age of ten, he can get a glimpse of his handsome appearance in the future. He has long black hair, sparkling eyes that are also rich black, and a small dimple on the side of his mouth. His smile is warm, like the warm sun shining on him.

Suddenly, Nolin's eyebrows raised, and his gaze fell on the three figures running not far away. To be precise, two people were chasing one person. To be more precise, it was two children covered in flesh chasing a thin child.

"Potter! Don't let me catch you-" a big fat boy in the back yelled out of breath.

The boy in front ignored him at all and made a face behind him. Keep running forward.

Nolin stared at the boy named Harry Potter with a somewhat complicated expression.

Yes, he is Harry Potter. This is the world of Harry Potter.

That midnight nine years ago, after Nolin saw Hagrid, Professor McGonagall, Dumbledore, and the baby lying on the doorstep, he no longer had the slightest doubt about this fact. What follows is the expectation and yearning for that wonderful wizarding world. At first, he was not sure whether he had wizard talent, and was even a little scared for a while. However, when he was eight years old, his sudden burst of magic surprised him, even though he almost burned down the entire garden. From that day on, he had been looking forward to turning eleven, and now, it was not far away.

Nolin looked at Harry running towards this side quickly, his thoughts still flying in the sky. He once thought that his family in his previous life was unfortunate enough, but compared to this boy who survived the catastrophe, it was still a bit insignificant. As a neighbor of the Dursleys, he saw all Harry's usual sufferings.

Nolin admired this boy a little. Whether it was living in a cupboard since he was a child, or the eccentricity of the Ridsley family, or the endless bullying from Dudley and his friends, Harry's enthusiasm for life has not been dampened. Compared to this, Nolin felt that the tragic family in his previous life was not a big deal.

"Harry!" Nolin stood up and waved at Harry.

Harry had found Nolin lying next to the tree a long time ago. Ever since he was a child, only Nolin could help him a little when he was bullied.

"Good afternoon, Nolin." Harry ran up to him, putting his hands on his knees and looking very tired. Harry has a thin face, black hair and a pair of emerald green eyes. He wore a pair of round glasses held together with lots of Scotch tape, and had a light lightning-like scar on his forehead.

"It's okay." Nolin crossed his hands and twisted, took a few steps forward, with a friendly smile on his face, and shouted to Dudley, "Hello, Dudley."

The fat boy's steps obviously slowed down. Dudley cautiously walked towards Nolin's direction step by step. Looking at Nolin's smile, the fat on his cheeks trembled, and he said with some sternness: "Davis - I warn you not to meddle in other people's business, otherwise I just..."

"Otherwise what?" Nolin interrupted him with a smile, "Are we going to have another fight? Or is it a competition to see who can run faster?"

Dudley subconsciously hitChills. It's really strange that he can't beat him with such a thin body. It doesn't matter, but he is still a child prodigy who has been in "The Times"... Dudley simply can't imagine that there is such a civilized person in the world. A person who has the best of both worlds.

"Hmph - Potter! Do you just hide behind others?" Dudley pulled the accomplice next to him and said harsh words as he walked back, "When you go back to your poor ant's nest, The cupboard, let’s see how I clean it up for you!”

Nolin turned around worriedly, but Harry shrugged, pursed his lips, and looked indifferent. This boy has a heart-wrenching stubbornness.

"Thanks, Nolin." Harry scratched the back of his head and said with a smile.

"Thank you later." Nolin thought of something, walked under the tree, picked up a box and handed it to Harry, "Happy birthday."

It was a box of cakes with "Happy 10th Birthday Harry Potter" written on it. It's just that the workmanship is a little rough, with a few obvious cracks.

Nolin sighed in distress, puzzled: "I made it at noon. You know... my mother has never passed down cooking skills to me. Alas, it's so difficult to make a cake..."

Harry looked pleased but not surprised. He held the box with both hands, looked into Nolin's eyes, and whispered sincerely: "Nolin, you are the only one who remembers my birthday."

"It's only been one day, it's hard to remember..." Nolin muttered, turned and walked towards the path home, "I give you a birthday cake every time, and I'll give you a different one next time. Let's go, If Dudley still bullies you after you go back, just remind him by using my name."

Harry nodded, but it was unclear whether he listened or not. He looked at Nolin's back, smiled again, and followed quickly.

The garden was not far from home, and it didn't take long for Nolin and Harry to reach the street of Privet Drive. After the two said goodbye to each other, they walked into their homes.

Nolin could probably imagine what would happen to Harry after he returned, but he had no other choice but to mourn for him in his heart, because he also had a headache.

Nolin opened the door and walked in. The house is not big, but it has a special warmth. The lighting is warm in color, and the scent of pork ribs is filling the air.

"Oh! Little Nolin, you're back!" Hearing the sound of the door opening, a beautiful face popped out of the kitchen. Seeing Nolin walking over with a stiff face, Liana cheered, ran over with the spatula in her hand, kissed Nolin hard on the face a few times, and said in a gentle tone, "Go." Wash your hands and get ready to eat. Today I’m cooking your favorite sweet and sour pork ribs!”

Nolin touched his cheek helplessly, and then he cheered up a little. The Davis couple have always wondered why their baby son was so obsessed with Chinese food. For his sake, Liana even went to learn how to cook Chinese food. Then, the family was conquered by Chinese food.

More than half an hour later, Nolin's father Justin also came back. He looked slightly tired, and Liana greeted him when he entered, gently took off his tie, took off his clothes, and handed him a glass of half-warm water. Justin smiled softly, leaned over and kissed her on the face.

Nolin sat on the sofa and smiled. The relationship between his parents is so beautiful, this is the happiest place since he time traveled.

"Then, let's eat!" Lianna said hello to Nolin on the sofa, confidently, "Today's dish must be the pinnacle of my cooking skills!"

Nolin was noncommittal, but Justin smiled and said: "My dear, every meal is the pinnacle of your cooking skills." Lianna's eyes narrowed into crescents when she heard this, and her smile was bright.

Nolin had just stuffed a piece of pork ribs into his mouth when he heard Justin say: "Little Nolin, have you decided which middle school to go to? In fact, I have always thought that Eton College is pretty good."

Hearing this, Nolin swallowed the meat of the ribs, spit out a piece of bone and then said casually: "Let's talk about it in two days."

Liana gave Nolin another piece of ribs and continued: "Our little Nolin is a genius. He is so outstanding wherever he goes to school! Let's first think about how to celebrate little Nolin's eleventh birthday tomorrow."

Justin also looked at Nolin quite proudly, said nothing about it, and began to talk with his wife enthusiastically.

After dinner, the two sat on the sofa watching TV and chatting, and Nolin returned to his room on the second floor. He looked at the clock on the wall and thought quietly for a long time. With excitement and anxiety in his heart, he lay on the bed and slowly closed his eyes.
